Would you agree a fair amount of people who could have been good in the NBA never got a chance?

I mean drafting just isn't an exact science. I myself have beat a division 1 who played for St. John's 1 on 1 and never played HS and honestly beleive there are some street players who could take some NBA players one ion one. I am not saying the NBA players aren't the best in the world. But I am saying a lot of players never get the chance. Take for example John Starks was an All Star who came from the CBA. I think it's a little more then a rarity. Heck even MJ was cut from his HS team.

I agree that in a game of 1 on 1 there are people that could have made it. But the NBA isn't about 1 on 1. Stephon Marbury was one of the best streetballers in NY when he was a kid. He really hasn't done a lot in the NBA except screw up the cap space on the team that he plays for.

True look at Ronnie Fields from chicago that guy was already way better than kg in hs he just never got the chance
I agree 100% but that goes for any sport.
I agree. Unless you are really over the top, you will need to market yourself up the chain like the average-joe's on the street (submit an resume, go in for an interview and showcase yourself, then wait for an offer letter).

It is not just about skills but one's mentality to rise to the top. The ones who really achieved that (ie: Jamario Moon of the Raptors) is because they wanted more from the other. Chances are those "good" players being left out is because they waited for the opportunties coming to them instead of finding them.
yes i would agree. There's a lot of twists and turns in life.
